Diary Date - Save our Cardiff Reservoirs Walk

Members of the Reservoir Action Group have organized the Save our Cardiff Reservoirs Walk (SOCRW) on 3 September.

The event is based at Pontcanna Scout Hall, where all walkers will start and finish. The event has five routes, Gold 22, Silver 17, Bronze 12, Copper 6 and Zinc 3 miles to raise funds for the Reservoir Action Group to stop Western Power Distribution from spoiling our treasured area of Cardiff, and strategically important part of the Nant Fawr Corridor. Cardiff parks and green spaces make up 10% of the total land area of the city, giving Cardiff one of the highest green areas per head of population in the UK and the SOCRW walks have been designed to include:

  • Cardiff's superb parklands, the surrounding hills and countryside

  • very little road walking

  • spectacular views

You can find more detail about the walk under the Events section of the blog.

Volunteers Needed

The organisers are keen to hear from anyone who can assist on the day of the event with marshalling check points and giving out refreshments to walkers arriving back at the Pontcanna Scout Hall.
