History

RAG was formed in 2001 to fight the threat of housing development at Llanishen reservoir in north Cardiff and to secure the future of this much-loved beauty spot for generations to come. Following several planning applications and appeals by Western Power Distribution, the final decision on the reservoir was taken by the Welsh Assembly Government in April 2013. It dismissed their appeal and turned down the planning application.

This website reports the latest news as the action group continues to campaign to get the reservoir refilled and re-opened to the public. It is now leased by Dwr Cymru / Welsh Water who intend to repair and refill Llanishen reservoir and to re-open the site for recreational access.
