16th February 2011: WESTERN POWER PLANS TO ROUTE ALL TRAFFIC FROM THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT ON TO LISVANE ROAD

At today's preliminary public inquiry meeting, Western Power's legal team informed the meeting that two further planning applications would be submitted to Cardiff Council in early March.  One of these would be a Listed Building Consent and the other would be to route all traffic from the proposed development out on to Lisvane Road.  This is now the 'preferred option' of the developers.  The Environmental Statement accompanying the main development will also be revised and re-submitted to reflect these changes.  Western Power expect the Welsh Assembly Government to 'call in' these proposals, so that they will be considered at the re-convened public inquiry which is due to take place this July, along with the previous application to build 325 houses and flats on Llanishen Reservoir.  They also stated that they had no intention of starting to refill the reservoir until the planning process was completed.
