12th July 2010: LLANISHEN RESERVOIR DRAINAGE RAISED IN HOUSE OF COMMONS.

Jonathan Evans, the newly elected M.P. for Cardiff North, used his maiden speech in the House of Commons to raise the issue of the drainage of Llanishen Reservoir.  He was particularly critical of Western Power Distribution and their civil engineers Atkins, who are colluding to drain the reservoir under the guise of the 1975 Reservoir Act, despite it being made clear to them by the U.K. Environment Agency that there is no need to do so.  He also questioned the environmental record of the Pennsylvania Power and Light Corporation which owns Western Power.
